What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a healing discipline firmly grounded in science and evidence-based research. Chiropractic is founded upon the premise that when spinal bones are functioning in normal motion and position, the nervous system can deliver its vital information for the proper function of the body's tissues, organs and systems. Everyday occurrences can cause the spinal bones to lose their usual motion or position; this is known as a subluxation. This can set off a chain reaction affecting the bones, nerves, muscles & soft tissues resulting in pain, loss of function and degenerative changes throughout the body.
Chiropractors are the only Doctors trained to detect and correct subluxations through safe, gentle and specific adjustments. With this, pain can be eradicated and health and function restored. Like with Dentistry, once you are feeling well, Chiropractors place great importance on regular checkups in order to identify spinal subluxations before they become problematic. With this philosophy, Chiropractic is not simply treatment for pain – remember Prevention is better than Cure!

Chiropractic education and statutory regulation
Chiropractic education is second to none. Five years of full-time university studies are required, including advanced lecturing in Anatomy, Physiology, Biomechanics, Neurology, Pathology, Clinical Medicine and Diagnosis, but to name a few. Once qualified, Doctors of Chiropractic are, by UK law, required to be registered with the General Chiropractic Council, whose strict inclusion criteria will ensure your Doctor is fully qualified and insured. Continued Professional Development is mandatory in each and every year of practice in order to keep up to date with the ever changing advances in Medical Science.
Chiropractors are arguably the most highly skilled Primary Care Doctors in the World, being specialists in diagnosis and treatment of conditions relating to the spine and pelvis.
